We Swapped Hair Care Routines ๐Ÿ’†๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ’†๐Ÿฟ

– Hey Naturally Curly world, I’m Evelyn. – And I’m Grace. – And in this video, we are going to swap hair care routines. I know. (jazzy music) – I’m scared for the light
fluffiness of my hair because I’m pretty sure
Evelyn’s products are like shampoo with a heavy shampoo, condition, another conditioner, a third conditioner, and then like some kind
of butter probably. Butter in my hair? – I’m imagining Grace is gonna have me use a lot of mousses. Things that are basically
just air in different forms. Maybe like a hair spray which is air, a mousse which is like wet air, and then like a whip which is
like slightly more dense air. So.
(laughing) – Like I’m gonna have
to shampoo it all out at the end of this and
then re-style my hair. – I’m expecting my hair to be
really dry and tangled, but, you know, we do this for y’all. For your entertainment and enjoyment. (jazzy music) – Detangle damp hair with conditioner and wide-tooth comb. Twist each section after you detangle it. (laughing) – My hair is easy to detangle
so I usually do it dry. Do you use a brush?
– Yeah. – A brush? – Yep. SheaMoisture Damage Rehab Conditioner with olive leaf extract and avocado oil. It’s just too much oil. Getting my hair damp. I’m gonna put conditioner in my hair before I shampoo it. (laughing) – I mean. I use a quarter-sized
amount for each section. – Oh my god. – She doesn’t divide
her hair into sections so I’m just gonna…
(laughing) Let’s maybe get the back, cause the back, you know, there’s not much hair back there. – I fully expect my hair
to actually be completely straight after this because
it’s so weighed down by product. – Get these edges. Kinda hurts. (laughing) I’m looking at Grace like, am I doing? – As you can see, this is kind of… ♫ Strings for days (jazzy music) – Her shampoo, Elucence,
bomb, okay, I’m with you. Her conditioner is Deva Curl. Bomb, this is the weightless
waves version, which, but I mean it can’t be horrible. Conditioner is conditioner. Right? – Wash your hair with shampoo,
still in those twists. My hair’s not gonna stay in
the twists when I shampoo. – Wash my hair and condition it. And not detangle it. Cause that’s what I just did, right? – Mm-hmm.
– God! – I’m gonna go wash my
hair with this shampoo, this Damage Rehab shampoo. It also has oil in it so, I’m not gonna look like a wavy anymore, my hair’s gonna look like it’s straight and the internet’s gonna hate on me because they’re gonna be
like, “Your hair’s straight.” And I’m gonna be like, “No, it’s wavy, “Evelyn weighed my hair down
with her 15 conditioners! “And her shampoo that’s
basically a conditioner!” (jazzy music) – The shampoo, fabulous,
I use that shampoo. The conditioner, it felt like creamy air. – Unravel twists, already done, my hair did that to itself. And apply deep conditioner,
let sit for 30 minutes. Hydration Elation, pretty sure I already have enough hydration. Intensive Conditioner. How much should I put in? – [Evelyn] Just a nice dollop. – She said a dollop. – Per section.
– Per section? – The curly tee towel and you just plop your hair on top of your head. My hair is already on top of my head. (jazzy music) – I hate you. Oh god. Scrunch a nickel-sized amount. First off. I can do more?
– Yeah. – Okay. – I’m not allowed to scrunch. Evelyn was like, “No scrunching.” And I was like, “Okay,
it’s gonna be straight.” See, I just did it. – Okay, so we have the
Deva Curl Wave Maker. Touchable texture whip,
what did I tell y’all? Dense air!
(laughing) – Quickly rake through hair, rake through? I am going to put Mane Tamer leave-in cream. (jazzy music) – That’s good.
– Goodbye waves. Goodbye! – I’m scrunching! Dang, I can’t emulsify no product? – Curl cream, sculpts and defines curls. Just way too much product. – I watched Grace – this is what she do. She just does this. – Shoestring fry hair.
(laughing) Thank you, Evelyn. At least Evelyn’s hair is dry AF probably. – Spray volume spray onto roots. SheaMoisture Dragon’s Blood
Volume and Lifting Spray. You can’t see my roots. I have to like forage for them. I need some volume here. Maybe some volume… In this root. – Shake? I have to shake my hair? This is how she does
it, I’ve seen her do it. (laughing) And then sometimes she does this. (jazzy music) Diffuse my hair. (sighs) – I am going to blow
dry without a diffuser. (laughing) – I feel dumb! And now we have to use some
Bumble and Bumble Surf Infusion. Which has salt in it. As if my hair wasn’t dry enough. Just like two sprays?
– Like four. – One, two, three, four. – [Grace] That’s it. – Am I beautiful?
(laughing) (jazzy music) – Okay. – Um. I mean, you tell me. – At one point while I was blow drying I couldn’t tell whether or not it was wet or just had so much product in it that it was that greasy and stringy. – The scrunching gave me this shape. I don’t think it’s a shape
that I would necessarily rock. – Absolutely no wave definition. As predicted, my hair is
extremely weighed down, dull and straight. – It is just a little too dry for me. Thanks so much for watching. In the comments below,
let us know what you use to style your curls, coils and waves. – And don’t forget to
like, share and subscribe for more videos from us,
see you in the next one. – [Both] Bye.

  1. A lot of ppl are making comments on Grace's wavey hair (or lack there of) but she has the same hair as me (tho my hair is way more curly) but something that tends to happen with are type of hair is that when wet it looks strait but when dry poof there the curls are tho her hair is significantly less curly than mine but she does have wavey hair more so in the biggining

I went swimming with a friend and then after we went to the store and after my hair was dry she was so surprised with how curly my hair is

  2. HOPEFULLY, this has been an educational experience for you both. I know it was an amusing one for me. Having gone to an all-female college in the late 70's, we DID these 'experiments', and learned that as a Black woman, moisture {in the form of oils} is our friend; water, not so much. My Caucasian and Hispanic friends learned not to complain so much ๐Ÿ™‚ !!!

  3. Grace was so pressed about her waves that she doesnโ€™t naturally have, you can tell that she forced her waves. Also girl when you wash yo hair it becomes straight obviously cuz when she put the wet products in her hair it became straight. She really tried it tuh ๐Ÿ’€๐Ÿ˜‘

  4. My hair routine is. Wet hair, condition every two days, rinse, shampoo, rinse. Styling is, heat protector, volumisor spray, volume mousse. Blow dry

  5. If you add water/ oil or moisture of any kind to your hair & it doesnโ€™t wave YOU DONT HAVE WAVES๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

  6. Awe man Evelyn you went through it for this video. Did your hair recover? Lol goes to show just how different our hair is. Gotta give it to them both for TRYING ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ ๐Ÿ˜‚

  7. wavy was an exaggeration very light waves at most but that is probably due to the sea salt spray plus scrunching

  8. People in the comments arguing about her wavy hair texter she's got a 1a no 2b no 1111k like calm down it doesn't matter

  9. So much fun!!! I had thick full body hair now have partly vary curly hair and some wave and still trying to figure this out.

  10. Why is there such a big difference between what they u put in there hair, I mean curly hair can use almost any shampoo& conditioner strait hair? not that much I'm not hating on non of the hairs I swear but I'm just wondering I thought it will almost be the same things except I already know curly hair shrinks when it's dryed or wash and its more thicker

  11. evelyn barley had wavy hair in the beginning ha hair is juh straight. &&" thats kinda y people thinkwhite ppl juh try to get curls like black or mix ppl. if yhu dont have curly and or wavy hair dont tryand push it everyday. (no hate intended)

  12. My hair routine :

So because I have pretty much the Sam ehair as the other girl who was doing the natural hair girls routine I take the loreal colour safe shampoo I don't have coloured hair but I use it anyway, and I only put that on my scalp and let the rest rum down my hair when I am rinsing it out, then I squese the water out and sometimes even pat my hair with a towel to get my hair damp and then I take Palmers conditioner and only apply that on my ends leave that in for 5 minutes and then rinse it out when I get out of the shower ๐Ÿšฟ I brush my hair and apply Palmers leave in conditioner brush through again and then I am done

  13. I hate how like grace is making a huge deal about her waves but she didnโ€™t even have any to start with ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

  14. Brush. Shampoo. Conditioner. Brush. Blow Dry. Brush. Ponytail. Complain about your thick (and i mean *THICC*) short hair all fricking day.

  15. I love this so much lol ๐Ÿ˜‚ nah, I definitely could not swap my curly hair routine with someone who uses โ€œairโ€ based products ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ’€ my hairs waaayyy too thick

  16. How do people have hair care routines like I do what I feel like and use different shampoos and conditioners every few months since I use SO MUCH
I rarely use extra wet air

  17. I think her hair is naturally straight but she uses cream for curly or wavy hair and scrunches it also adding the defused which makes it โ€œwavyโ€. Iโ€™m pretty sure if she did actually have wavy hair then when she wet it you could kind of see the waves but it was just straight

  18. a whole lotta texture, curl and volume additives. if you had no reason to love your voluminous, thick, bodified curls/waves now is the time. I just learned its harder to have caucasoid textured hair than wooly. I'll take my 3 hour wash and style process any day .

  19. since when did caucasian women start using terms like "fluffy" and "waves" to describe their hair texture ? lmfao the beginning of the video im assuming is her definition of wavey . looks more frizzy and tangled to me (on the side that doesnt look straight anyways). She tried it though tsksksks .

  20. Grace sounds racist af even tho sheโ€™s not saying it directly but itโ€™s just bc she keeps on complaining too much and being over dramatic about her invisible waves ๐Ÿ˜

  21. I use shampoo and then i put wet and curly on my hair leave it in for a good 5 minutes and then dry my hair with a hair dryer after that I'm done

  23. man people just don't understand the work it takes to do your hair when its super curly. Like it takes me 2-3 hours to wash my hair AND MOST OF THAT IS JUST ME DETANGLING IT BECAUSE IT GETS TO FRICKIN HARD TO COMB AFTER PUTTING SHAMPOO CAUSE ITS JUST KNOTS T _ T

  24. Grace was annoying, she never had waves, and she named like one oil and then continued to complain about how much oil it was.

  25. If you can use a brush on your hair dry and it doesnโ€™t turn into a frizzy poof, is your hair really curly? Like really? Or just kind of wavy?

  26. This is hilarious! ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ But how beautifully it highlights diversity as well…
New challenge for me: learn what works for women with hair types that are completely different from mine.

  27. all the people saying that homegirl had straight hair clearly donโ€™t have experience with actual straight hair

  28. Oh my god that's a LOT of products. I literally just oil my hair, shampoo and condition it. Nothing else….and my hairs amazing ๐Ÿ˜

  29. Girls with basically non existent waves be like: YEAH THESE ARE MY CURLS. ITS SO HARD TO BE A CURLY GIRL. YALL STRAIGHT HAIRED GIRLS GOT IT EASY. YA MY CURLS ARE LIKE 2C/3A BUT MOSTLY 3B. OH NO I HOPE THIS DOSENT WEIGH DOWN MY CURLS. WOW MY HAIR IS SOOO CURLY. WOOOOOOO

Girls with actually curly hair: >:| ????!!!!?????
