Kidney stones? Prostate issues? Don’t delay care | Ohio State Medical Center
So I think one of the misconceptions of kidney stones or prostate issues is that if we do nothing these symptoms may eventually just go away. Unfortunately, that can sometimes lead to complications that can potentially be nonreversible. For example, a kidney stone that blocks the kidney for a very long time may eventually lead to one of the kidneys not functioning. In men with prostate issues by doing nothing over time, that can potentially lead to bladder failure. And so it’s important to listen to the body, and if there’s a suspicion of a kidney stone or prostate issue that needs to be addressed, that may be addressed in a timely fashion so that the sequella are not as serious down the road.
